"Hyperlink"

I finally learned to hyperlink, I think. So, I'm giving it a go. My friend Gwen has a great blog and as I was perusing I stumbled upon these great greeting cards she just ordered. This is my favorite I think, there are so may great ones, but this one really hits home. Check out the other hilarious cards she ordered at http://www.everythingilikecausescancer.blogspot.com/
Thanks Gwen for hooking a sister up, and for the rest of the blog world, for not being too pissed about not linking until now.
*still not real sure my linking skills are where they should be but I'm working on it.

Bench

I wanted to save this picture for some inspiration for a upcoming project.

Before / After

I found this little table in a alley not far from our house and decided to give it a new home. I do believe that if someone challenged me to decorate a house with things that were only found, I think I could do it.
It looked like this was a piece of a dining table, it still has the little hooks underneath for where an extension goes. The table had seen better days. The previous owners had painted it black without priming it, so needless to say most of the paint was already chipping off.
Me and Baby J spent some time scraping and sanding, and trying to get back to a smooth surface. There were a few screw holes that I filled with wood filler, then sanded. The table was too long to fit in the spot at the bottom of our stairs, so I cut about 2" of each end.
I then got some iron on wood veneer from the hardware store and used it on the cut sides and the front. And after that all it took was a coat of primer and a couple coats of paint.
Recycling at its best.

Eichler Home

These photos were found from Eichlerific via TheBrickhouse. These are original photos of the previous owners decor, and I just think they're great.
Even thought there is obviously a heavy MCM design, I still feel that the colors that were used make this home feel fresh. Looking at these photos this place doesn't look dated, and I guess that is what true great design is.

Garden Inspiration

I found this photo via Apartment Therapy, and thought It was a great idea.
I am the type of gardener that I need immediate gratification, I like everything to look over grown, and I really don't like the way fresh flower beds look spaced out.
These are just full plant trays straight from the nursery. They are set down into the deck for a nice clean look. I am sure they need lots of watering, so as to not dry out in the small plastic containers, but I think with this display there could be so many options.

Lucyina Moodie

I found These pictures from Lucyina's portfolio via Mochatini and I have seen them before but I really love the color combo. I tend to always lean towards neutrals, because I feel I won't tire of them easily.
I do love mixing little pops of color that I can easily change when the mood strikes. So, for that reason these rooms would be very easy for me to feel at home in. I also think my husband would be very happy to call that big leather chair his.

Thrifting = Crack

I have been on a thrifting hiatus recently, and I think I start to get depressed if I stay away too long.
I think it may be sort of like having a crack addiction. The rush I feel as soon as I walk through the door of a thrift store, is like no other for me. And as many times as I tell myself I don't need it, I find that I just can't stay away.
I found some great vintage fabrics, two cool vintage wire baskets(maybe old locker baskets?) and a set of 8 cocktail plates(walnut or teak?) and the before mentioned elephant.
And I have to say it felt good!

I love the fabric on this daybed.

So Stink'n Cute

Me and Baby J found this little cutie at a thrift store this morning, 99 cents, can't hardly beat it!
It might mean more to him had I worked my fingers bloody sewing it by hand, but I have to say sometimes it is nice to enjoy homemade gifts from someone else.
